September 13 - Power in names

Ahoy-hoy!

Since grass growth made keeping animals easier, here's some things to do with your animals! You can now name your animals when they hatch, which they like, and so do you! It's win-win for everyone. Speaking of stuff your animals like, their produce will now level up properly when they're happy. Dare you raise the mystical and elusive chocolate milk cow? Such wonderous rewards!

Intro is almost all polished up and ready. It's taken a while to come out but that's largely because I'm only able to work on it a couple days a week. As has now become tradition, here's another peek:

Couple of little polishy tweaks as well. When you talk to NPCs you may notice that their mouths now move. They actually will lip-sync what they're saying automagically, which can have some useful implications in the future. Also, you can use the camera to direct your swimming now. Just point in a direction and swim! Makes it a lot easier to control. Shift will also no longer cause you to rise, so you can dash properly while swimming.

October 11 - Consumerism and Flowers

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone! It's like American Thanksgiving, but it's a little earlier and comes with a colorful paper crown. Isn't that fun? If you said yes, congratulations you're the only one!

Look at those stiff, forced smiles. Their parents are watching and expect too much of them. Such brave girls.

I've been working hard on bugs/issues as well as progressing the content. The bug reports forum is shrinking pitifully every day, tiny and squishy as it is. Thanks to everyone that's taken the time to report any bugs, or any issues they may have with the game!

I've made some more tweaks and improvements to the intro, added some new music and sounds. There's one bug I know of left to fix, and then we can probably call it done for now. There's two new story scenes added as well for when you pay off your down-payment, including a bunch of goodies to commemorate the event. I'll be continuing to add these little story scenes and rewards as we go, which has been made much easier to do since completing the new cutscene engine. So expect more of those!

Do you know of any shops where sailors might go?

For the merchants and hobby sellers among you, I've added two new things. First, instead of random strangers coming into your shop, now villagers will come instead if your shop is close enough to town (if you chose the shop during the intro, you'll naturally be close enough). Second, simply having a cash register will attract curious window shoppers to check out your storefront. They're looking for something specific, which you might not even have for sale. If you go and get it for them, they'll buy it! Window shoppers are much more frequent, but require a more expansive and prepared inventory.

Oh yeah, and gardening is now permitted in town, so plant and trim to your heart's content! Cover the town in flowers for all I care, because that would be very pretty and I'd like it a lot.
