Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Mayor they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Engraver, and he later adopted a second daughter.

He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Cartwright arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Alex was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Alex decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He now mingles about in high society.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with his Slave Trader father left him crippled. He struck the Soapmaker job and began his own company from there.
