He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Hubert was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
