History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. His parents were killed by gnolls in a raid when he was still a young child. The gnolls captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Nicholas was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

History: He was born in the north. Ernest was born on a far northern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Architect. He was granted necromantic powers by his dying sister.
