The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. History: Gifted from a young age, Nicholas studied abroad. He always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He can speak with the recently deceased. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Miller they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Armorer, and he later adopted a second son.

History: He was born into a rich family. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he's looking for his big break
