History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He seems to be bored by most things; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Born in the south to a Apothecary, Roland learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
