History: He comes from a rich northern family. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he is greedy

After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Gerald was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.
