History: Hugh was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Balimaar embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He is very protective of his business, his home, and his spouse. He is willing to work with less than legal methods but maintains the front of legitimacy.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he is a bit of a kleptomaniac

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. He invites people to come help in his community garden.

History: Lance was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this southern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. His brief stint in the army gave him the idea he was invincible and that he is the toughest man alive.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the south; and he's looking for his big break
