History: He comes from a rich eastern family. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Everard was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He became a Masseuse soon after.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
