When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Farmer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.
