His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He is able to make almost anything out of random pieces of junk.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Bertram grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He dropped out of school to support his sick mother, and resented it. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. Only to laugh say gotcha and shoot double pistol fingers at the fooled target.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the north were limited. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and wants to raise his children well

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He was taken from his home at a very young age. He was granted psionic powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and he wants revenge against brigands
