However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the drow.

History: Born to a Brewer, his mother struggled to pay the bills. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the plains to a summer home near a old dungeon. He would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. John took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up sword and armor he uses now. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 6 years.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Locksmith responsibilities is difficult; and wants to open a new tavern

History: Born to a Soapmaker, his father struggled to pay the bills. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Soapmaker. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
