History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the west. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Roland was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
