When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Bookbinder hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has never given up on his music dream.

Description: An imposing man with a heavy stainless steel prosthetic left hand, he prefers to wear yellow clothing when he does not wear armor. His auburn hair is knotted and matted. His violet eyes are slightly larger than normal.

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He is a ruthless business man, a trait he acquired from his mother.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Bertram was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Bertram decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He became a Bookbinder soon after.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He would like to get married and retire.
