Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. He disdains his fellow easterners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Gerard lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Cartwright and was forced into it by his family; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day

Personality: Friendly and accommodating he would invite many more into his home than his spouse would be comfortable with if they did not express concern about it. He claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day he will do what he thinks is right.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and revenge

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Kyle embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Kyle fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor.
