His father taught him the rudiments of the Gardener arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Theodoric alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
