History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Charles alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. History: He was raised in a island tribe. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Herbalist. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Herbalist for hire.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Gilbert was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Gilbert never married again.
