His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: Bertram was born with his mother's beautiful face. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His childhood dream was to be a Doctor, but he was a colossal failure. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: He seems to be bored by most things; and wishes to resurrect an old love
