Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Bookbinder they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Adventurer, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

Description: He stands about 5'1" and wears dark leathers with embroidery. His right leg appears badly burned and disfigured. His white hair, when down, is lengthy. His eyes are amber and he is always smoking a pipe.

Personality: Roland is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered illithids who tried to eat his hand. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Roland was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and many illithids want him driven away
