History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He worked as a nervous Barrister and found it very stressful. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Cartwright. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud
