History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off his debts

History: Anselm lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He worked as a nervous Mortician and found it very stressful. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Mortician for the past few years.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Cook they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Courier, and he later adopted a second son.

He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
