History: Anselm lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Anselm alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.
