History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Aldous grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Aldous. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Thomas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and a deep hatred of orcs
