History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: A child with a great deal of dancing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Through the years after Roland was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Roland's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
