History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and he wants revenge against brigands

History: John was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Fighter, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the north were limited. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
