Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Godfrey embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is content; and his religion dominates his actions

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, William was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. Through the years after Patrick was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Patrick's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Bookbinder. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
