History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He always admired martial-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He was granted martial powers by his dying sister.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

History: Born in the east to a Merchant, Gerard learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Merchant work with an outfit from a few towns over. Merchant work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. In the meantime he has taken over work as a Merchant and occasionally as a mercenary.
