History: Charles hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Charles was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

Motivation: He wants revenge against gnolls; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it

He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day; and he has decided he is irredeemable
