History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the west. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. After a long history of fighting, Patrick and his spouse have recently divorced.
