His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Tim was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. At a young age his mother died while driving off some drow. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in scythe use. After months of barely getting by, Tim managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.
