History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Mason profession.

History: Born in the west to a Servant, Lance learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He worked as a nervous Servant and found it very stressful. He's also a talented Mason, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.
