History: Nicholas hails from a village terrorized by brigands. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and to protect his home

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He works hard and plays hard.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Through the years after Diggory was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Diggory's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Diggory never married again.
