Personality: He misses his glory days as an athlete. He does not mind his job, but it is boring in comparison. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting brigands, the young Bertram began to lead the lost caravan. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
