History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and a rival would like him out of the picture
