Through the years after Adelard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Adelard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Scribe. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.
