He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: Hubert lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and to share knowledge with the world

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and to find somewhere to settle down

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Gerard grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He worked as a nervous Navigator and found it very stressful. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.
