Description: What flesh remains visible is marred by burns. He wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment. His black hair and beard is wavy and long. His brown eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.
Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. A true patriot, Ernest would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.
History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
Motivation: Retire the richest man in the south; and balancing his hectic life and new knight responsibilities is difficult

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.
History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the north. He moved out east to avoid the crime he committed. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.
Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes illithids are coming to abduct people. He can't help but pocket interesting objects he comes across
History: A powerful slaver made him what he is. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Bernard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help.
