History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Charles grew up listening to his father's many stories. Ostracized due to the martial powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Gilbert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Gilbert was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
