History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Chad was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
