He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Adelard wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Fighter, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He has all his life been fascinated with dancing.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered giants who tried to eat his hand. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.
