History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, illithids burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying east to reunite his family. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Shane was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Manfred grew up listening to his mother's many stories. His parents were killed by orcs in a raid when he was still a young child. The orcs captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by orcs. Manfred was horrified and prayed that his father was alright.
