History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Lance alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born to a Fortune-teller, his father struggled to pay the bills. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
