History: Nicholas was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. In his 17th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Through the years after Conrad was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Conrad's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has worked as a Server like his father before him.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and he wants revenge against giants
