The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. He has been helping groups of widows and orphans who have fled abusive spouses or lost their families to dire rats.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
