History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Wants to work out more often; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

Description: This tall, slender man wears rags and sports a simple walking cane. He wears his brown hair down. His green eyes peer out from beneath his broad blue hat.

Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. When he's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, he's doing poetry.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He has had some formal poetry training, and achieved minor success. During his travels, Roland and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Roland discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Roland fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality.

Description: An older man who is dressed in an above average manner, he is not a threatening figure. He has done his best to style his blonde hair to look like a famous performer. He is very pretty but has cold, dead eyes.

Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. He takes great joy in being the best Tanner in town.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Expand his business; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg
