He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Crown-heir work with an outfit from a few towns over. Crown-heir work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. Around other people he will do his best to conceal his emotions and appear jolly.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bertram fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
