He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Kody and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
