History: Aldous lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Navigator. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
