His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Courier they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Miner, and he later adopted a second son.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: Jocelyn hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
