History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his mother. Through the years after Richard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Richard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His martial abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
